Outdoor burning discouraged in Baltimore area as fire risks increase

BALTIMORE, MD—Outdoor burning is being discouraged across the state of Maryland on Tuesday afternoon and evening due to dry conditions and gusty winds.

The National Weather Service says elevated conditions conducive to wildfire spread are expected through early evening with northwest winds gusting 20-30 mph and minimum relative humidity values between 15 and 30 percent across much of the Mid-Atlantic.

Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged at this time.
