Baltimore County SAO: Homeowner won’t be charged after shooting 2 burglars

DUNDALK, MD—The Baltimore County Police is investigating a double shooting that occurred during an attempted burglary on Thursday.

At just before 4:30 a.m. on November 9, officers responded to the 4200-block of Lynhurst Road in Dundalk for reports of a shooting. Once on the scene, officers located an adult male who had sustained a gunshot wound. While investigating, officers were made aware of another adult male who had fled and was located in a wooded area. That suspect had also sustained a gunshot wound. Both suspects were transported to an area hospital.

Detectives determined that the incident stemmed from an attempted burglary. The suspects were attempting to gain access to the homeowner’s shed when they were confronted. During that confrontation, one of the suspects displayed a firearm. The homeowner then discharged his firearm, striking two suspects.

Charges are pending against the burglary suspects, two of whom suffered gunshot wounds. The Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office will not be pursuing charges against the homeowner.
