WOODLAWN, MD—Police are investigating after a teen was injured in a shooting at a school playground on Tuesday afternoon.
At just after 3:30 p.m. on October 24, officers with the Baltimore County Police Department responded to the playground area of an elementary school in the 1600-block of Langford Road (21207) in reference to reports of shots fired. Shortly after officers arrived, they located a teenage male suffering from a single gunshot wound in the general vicinity of the school.
As detectives pursue numerous leads in this shooting, the victim remains in stable condition. At this point in the investigation, detectives do not believe this to be a random incident. It is believed the shooter was targeting specific individuals they had encountered earlier in the area. Out of an abundance of caution, an increased police presence can be expected Wednesday near Edmondson Heights Elementary School.
