31-year-old killed in fatal crash on I-95 overnight

ROSEDALE, MD—Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred overnight in Baltimore County.

At about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, troopers responded to southbound Interstate 95 at Chesaco Avenue for a report of a two-vehicle crash. According to a preliminary investigation, a 2019 Nissan Altima was possibly disabled in one of the travel lanes when it was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer.



The passenger of the Nissan, identified as Denzel Butcher, 31, of Baltimore, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan, a 28-year-old male, was transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for treatment of his injuries. The driver and the passenger of the tractor-trailer declined medical treatment at the scene.

Southbound I-95 was shut down for about five hours following the crash.
