MIDDLE RIVER, MD—A local senior center is celebrating a big milestone.
Victory Villa Senior Center in Middle River this week marked its 50th anniversary.
The center is named after a community that was established during World War II to support the workers of the Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Company. During the war, the company produced the Martin 167 Bomber and the B-26 Bomber.
Elected officials, including Councilman David Marks and County Executive Johnny Olszewski, were on hand to celebrate with center officials.
“Congratulations to the Victory Villa Senior Center Council on this senior center’s 50th birthday,” said Councilman Marks. “I presented a resolution on behalf of Councilmembers (Todd) Crandell, (Mike) Ertel, and myself, and joined County Olszewski and the Baltimore County Department of Aging in wishing everyone future success.”
Victory Villa Senior Center is located at 403 Compass Road (21220).
