Crews to work on Route 40 between Baltimore City line, Chesaco Avenue

ROSEDALE, MD—The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will resurface a section of each direction of US 40 (Pulaski Highway) between the Baltimore City line and Chesaco Avenue in Rosedale.

The work will begin Tuesday night, September 19, and should be complete in early November, weather permitting.

Contractor crews will work overnight Sundays through Thursdays from 8 p.m. to 5 p.m. the next day. Work includes pavement patching, milling (removal of the top layer of asphalt), paving, and restriping. Drivers can expect single-lane closures while crews are working.

The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Gray and Son, Inc. of Timonium, will use arrow boards and barrels to guide motorists safely through the work zone. Lane closures associated with resurfacing projects are inconvenient but are necessary to maintain a safe and reliable highway system. Drivers are asked to slow down in the work zone for the safety of all drivers and the crews working to improve our roadways.

Customers may contact the State Highway Administration District 4 Office Construction Division at 410-229-2300 or toll-free at 1-866-998-0367 for additional information on the US 40 resurfacing project.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
