Parkville 9/11 Path of Honor to mark 12th year

PARKVILLE, MD—An annual tradition will return to Parkville this weekend.

For the past twelve years, volunteers have placed 2,977 American flags along Putty Hill Avenue, from Old Harford Road to Harford Road, in honor of those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The 2023 Path of Honor will go up on Friday morning, September 8, to commemorate the upcoming 22nd anniversary of that fateful day.  Those interested in participating are encouraged to meet in front of McAvoy’s at 7:30 a.m.

The annual event is organized by The Hope and Peace Foundation.

The group will hold its annual Patriot Day Ride on Saturday, September 9th.  The ride will go from Darlington to Parkville, ending at McAvoy’s.
