BCPS school bus driver injured following altercation with parent in Carney

CARNEY, MD—Baltimore County Public Schools officials are investigating after a bus driver was involved in an altercation with a parent on Tuesday after dismissal.

The incident occurred at a bus stop, according to a letter sent to parents by Lesley Stepney, principal at Harford Hills Elementary School in Carney.

Further details have not been released, but the bus driver required medical attention following the incident.

Several students witnessed the altercation and the school’s counselor will be available to those who may need support.

“I was deeply disturbed to learn of a physical altercation between a bus driver and parent at a BCPS bus stop yesterday,” said Board of Education of Baltimore County member Julie Henn on Wednesday. “Adults need to get it together. Our kids are watching.”
