Crews to perform overhead highway lighting maintenance along I-695 in Overlea, Towson next week

BALTIMORE, MD—The Maryland State Highway Administration will be performing overhead lighting maintenance at two interchange ramps on I-695 in Baltimore County next week, beginning Sunday, August 27. The work will be complete Friday morning, September 1, weather permitting.

Beginning Sunday at 10 p.m., motorists can expect temporary overnight ramp closures and traffic pattern shifts at any time 10 p.m.-5 a.m. the next morning Sunday – Thursday, August 27 – 31 at these locations:



Ramp from southbound US 1 (Belair Road) to the inner loop (eastbound) I-695 in Overlea.

Detour: Motorists will be directed to proceed on southboundUS  1 past the interchange to westbound Taylor Avenue to northbound MD 147 (Harford Road) to eastbound I-695.

Ramp from the outer loop (westbound) I-695 to MD 45 (York Road) in Towson.

Detour: Motorists will be directed to go past the MD 45 exit to MD 139 (Charles Street). At the end of ramp, drivers will be directed to a left turn onto Bellona Avenue to southbound MD 139 and then turn left from southbound Charles Street onto the inner loop (eastbound) I-695 to proceed back to MD 45.

Motorists are asked to reduce speeds approaching and while in active work zones.
