TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Police Department remembers Corporal Samuel Snyder and the sacrifice he made while serving and protecting the residents of Baltimore County.
Forty years ago today, on August 23, 1983, Corporal Snyder died as a result of the injuries he sustained after being shot.
The 30-year veteran was responding to the Bel-Loc Diner, formerly located in the 1700-block of Joppa Road (21234), to assist fellow officers with a call for service when he was injured.
Officers with the Baltimore County Police Department are wearing a memorial ribbon bar on their uniform or a mourning band on their badge on Wednesday in memory of Corporal Samuel Snyder.
His name along with the names of other fallen heroes is inscribed on a monument at Patriot Plaza in Towson.
