BALTIMORE, MD—The Port of Baltimore received a massive visitor this past weekend.
Evergreen’s Ever Max visited the Port for the first time on Saturday. The Ever Max, the largest ship to ever visit Port of Baltimore, weighs 165,350 tons, is more than 1,200 feet long, and can handle 15,432 Twenty-foot Equivalent (TEU) containers.
Port officials say they can handle such a large visitor due to PoB’s 50-foot deep berths and ultra-large Neo-Panamax cranes.
Maritime Executive reports that the Ever Max is operating on Evergreen’s U.S. East Coast route having previously made port calls in Savannah, New York, and Norfolk, before Baltimore.
