Baltimore County Police Department addresses concerns regarding unlicensed solicitors in residential neighborhoods

TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Police Department has been responding to increased calls for service regarding solicitors in residential neighborhoods, officials said on Monday morning.

Although some of the solicitors are licensed, some are not.

The Baltimore County Police Department wants residents to be aware of the following:

  • Solicitors in Baltimore County are required to be licensed as a peddler/huckster through the clerk’s Office of the Baltimore County Circuit Court.
  • Solicitors must carry that license with them
  • The license does not give the solicitor the right to remain on your property after being told to leave.
  • The Baltimore County Code Article 21-11-106 recently amended regulations regarding door-to-door solicitors.

If community members have concerns about solicitors, they may call 410-887-2222 or 911 to report it to police immediately.
