Suspect charged in Edgewood homicide

EDGEWOOD, MD—A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a homicide in Edgewood earlier this month.

On August 2, deputies with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 600-block of Longwood Court for a cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, deputies located Tyrell Orlando Polley, 33, of Edgewood, deceased in his residence. Polley had been shot multiple times in the upper body.



The subsequent investigation developed Michael Anthony Brown Jr., 37, of Brooklyn, Maryland as the person responsible for Polley’s death. A warrant for Brown’s arrest was issued on August 15, 2023. Brown, already in custody at the Baltimore County Detention Center for unrelated charges, now faces additional charges, including first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and other related offenses.

At this time, no other charges have been filed in connection to this shooting. The investigation continues and no further information is being released.
