Flood Watch issued for Baltimore area

BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Baltimore area.

The watch will be in effect from 5 p.m. on Monday until 2 a.m. on Tuesday.



Forecasters rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible on Monday evening and into the overnight hours. Rain rates of over two inches per hour are possible. Urban areas and flood prone roadways will be of a particular concern.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Residents should remain weather-aware throughout the day.
