LAUREL, MD—Howard County police are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred on Wednesday night in Laurel in which one person was killed.
At just before 10:45 p.m., a vehicle was traveling southbound on Washington Boulevard approaching Wilbert Lane when it struck a pedestrian crossing the road.
The pedestrian, identified as 44-year-old James Douglas Williams Jr. of Rosedale, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and remained at the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when he was struck. The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.
