Baltimore County to implement liberal leave for employees due to impending severe weather, park sites to close at 5 p.m.

TOWSON, MD—Due to impending inclement weather and out of an abundance of caution, Baltimore County government will implement liberal leave policy for all non-emergency/non-essential personnel, effective immediately.

Beginning at 5 p.m. on Monday, all in-person general Baltimore County government activities will be cancelled. All essential and emergency employees must continue to report.



The Baltimore County Council meeting scheduled for tonight, Monday August 7, 2023, will now be held virtually.

All Baltimore County recreational park sites and facilities will close at 5 p.m. on Monday.  Baltimore County Public Schools officials have cancelled all afternoon and evening activities.

Residents are urged to use caution as anticipated high winds and potentially damaging severe weather will impact the area on Monday evening.

A Tornado Watch is in effect for the Baltimore area until 9 p.m.
