Motivational speaker, singer urges residents to send cards to White Marsh veteran celebrating 95th birthday

WHITE MARSH, MD—A White Marsh-area veteran is celebrating a big birthday, and a renowned motivational speaker and singer wants to help him celebrate.

Janine Stange, who is known for singing the National Anthem in all 50 states, is urging her massive social media following to send 95th birthday cards and letters to Korean War veteran Harry Allender Sr., who will be turning 95 on August 6, 2023.



When the war ended, Allender came home to Baltimore to his wife, started a family, and joined the Baltimore Police Department in 1955. He served until his retirement in 1986, putting in 31 years. He retired at the rank of Colonel and was a district commander at the time.

Stange often uses her social media pages to urge followers to send birthday cards to veterans, and is asking people to send birthday cards and letters to Allender at:
