NASA Wallops launch to be visible in Maryland on Tuesday night

BALTIMORE, MD—NASA says a Tuesday night rocket launch may be visible in Maryland, weather-permitting.

The next cargo resupply mission from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility is scheduled for Tuesday, August 1, at 8:31 p.m. EDT.

The Northrop Grumman Corporation Antares vehicle will deliver science and supplies to the International Space Station aboard the Cygnus spacecraft.

The Cygnus spacecraft for this launch is named in honor of the late NASA astronaut, undersea medical officer, and naval flight officer Laurel Clark. Selected by NASA in 1996, Dr. Clark flew as a mission specialist aboard Columbia STS-107.

Live coverage of the launch will air on NASA Television, the agency’s website, and the NASA app beginning at 8 p.m. EDT Tuesday, Auguse 1st.

Those in the mid-Atlantic region, weather permitting, may be able to see the rocket after liftoff according to the timetable above.
