PARKVILLE, MD—The Maryland State Highway Administration and Maryland State Police will conduct two early morning temporary traffic slow-downs with total traffic stops on all lanes of I-695 (Baltimore Beltway inner and outer loops) in Parkville.
The work is planned for Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the Putty Hill Road bridge in the Parkville area of Baltimore County.
The two traffic stops on I-695 may take place at any time between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Wednesday and will last up to 15 minutes at a time. The traffic delays will allow a telecommunications utility company to safely drag a new transmission cable across all lanes of I-695. The utility cable work is being done in advance of the future project to replace the Putty Hill Road bridge over I-695.
Drivers are asked to plan for extra travel time, stay alert, stay focused, look ahead for traffic slowdowns between MD 147 (Harford Road) and US 1 (Belair Road) and follow directions of MSP troopers and traffic control personnel deployed along this section of I-695.
In case of inclement weather, the utility work and traffic stops will take place on Thursday, July 27, or a later date. Customers who have questions about this work may contact the State Highway Administration District 4 Office – Utility Section at 410-229-2300 or toll-free at 1-866-998-0367.
