$4 million Mega Millions ticket sold in Baltimore, $1 million ticket sold in Catonsville

BALTIMORE, MD—Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing produced big winners in Maryland. Two Maryland Lottery players became millionaires last night, and two other tickets produced $10,000 wins.

A winning $4 million Mega Millions with Megaplier ticket was sold at Lobby Shop, located at 1 North Charles Street in Baltimore City. For an extra $1, the lucky winner added the Megaplier feature when purchasing their ticket. Since last night’s Megaplier was X4, the $1 million second-tier prize was quadrupled to $4 million.

Another second-tier ticket was sold in Maryland without the Megaplier. That winner purchased their $1 million ticket at National Pike Fuel at 5931 Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville.

Two other happy players each won a $10,000 third-tier prize. Those tickets were both sold in Gaithersburg — one at Watkins Mill Beer & Wine at 857 Russell Avenue and the other at the 7-Eleven located at 8946 North Westland Drive.

No one won the Mega Millions jackpot, which rolls to an estimated $720 million for the Friday, July 21 drawing with an estimated cash option of $396.3 million. This jackpot is the fifth-largest in the game’s history. Wednesday night’s Powerball jackpot is a massive $1 billion.

Last night’s winning numbers were 19, 22, 31, 37 and 54. The Mega Ball number was 18 and the optional Megaplier number was X4. Second-tier winners match all five numbers, only missing the Mega Ball. Third-tier winners match four numbers plus the Mega Ball.

Lottery officials encourage winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location until they can claim their prize. Winners get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes.

Maryland has had five second-tier winning Mega Millions tickets sold in 2023. The state sold four $1 million winning tickets in 2022, three in 2021, two in 2020, two in 2019, three in 2018 and one in 2017.

Nationally, more than 2.3 million tickets were winners. Maryland saw more than 56,000 win prizes ranging from $2 to $4 million.

The last Maryland jackpot win came in March 2014, when Maryland and Florida players split a $414 million jackpot. That winning ticket was sold at Lady’s Liquors in La Plata.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in 47 states and jurisdictions.
