Nottingham student attending CCBC Essex snags winning $30,000 Maryland Lottery scratch-off

NOTTINGHAM, MD—A Nottingham resident was at a grocery store purchasing another item and decided to buy a $3 Diamond Bingo scratch-off.

It was a good investment as she left the store with the top prize of $30,000.



The lucky winner, whose eyes lit up when it was revealed that the ticket was a winner, hid all emotions after the win.

“I tried to keep it to myself. I didn’t want anyone in the store to know that I won,” they explained.

The Baltimore County resident is a student at Community College of Baltimore County – Essex and said all the winnings will go toward education. The winner is also has other plans at the community college.

“I am going to try out for the basketball team,” said the excited winner.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Hye’s Grocery store, located at 2819 East Madison Street in Baltimore City.
