ABERDEEN, MD—Loud noise alert!
Aberdeen Proving Ground officials say the base has firing operations scheduled for this week.
APG has daytime and nighttime testing scheduled for Monday, July 17 – Friday, July 21, from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. each day and ending at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 21. Additional training will end at 2 a.m. on Saturday, July 22. Noise may be heard in some areas off the installation.
Military weapons, watercraft, and/or aircraft will be visible during daytime and nighttime hours.. Residents may hear weapons firing and see flashes or light visible off post from illumination devices. APG officials say these operations are not hazardous to residents in surrounding communities and are integral to ensuring continued readiness of service members.
Organizations on APG take every measure to mitigate instances when training or testing becomes problematic to residents off the installation. To minimize the impact to neighbors, APG monitors the weather and the noise readings continuously throughout each day.
