NOTTINGHAM, MD—Baltimore County Board of Education Member Julie Henn and Councilman David Marks announced this weekend that BCPS will restore Perry Hall High School’s outdoor track.
The track has been in such poor condition that the school no longer hosts meets.
The track is named for the late Jerry Martin, longtime physical education teacher and cross country and track coach who led Perry Hall High School to numerous county and state championships.
“I’m excited for Perry Hall. We have incredible student athletes and many active residents who use the track. This is great news for the community and I appreciate Superintendent Yarbrough’s support of the project,” said Board Member Henn.
Councilman Marks ran on the Perry Hall High School cross country teams under Martin in 1988, 1989, and 1990.
“I am so proud that this long-neglected track that has been a part of Perry Hall’s legacy of excellence will now be restored,” said Councilman Marks.
