BALTIMORE, MD—Powerball isn’t the only game in town soaring to massive heights. Mega Millions fever is in the air as the jackpot continues to grow.
No one won the Mega Millions jackpot on Tuesday, which rolls to an estimated $560 million for the Friday, July 14 drawing with an estimated cash option of $281.1 million. The jackpot is the seventh largest in the game’s history.
Check your tickets as there were some local winners in Maryland. Third-tier prizes were sold in Jessup, Columbia and Rockville.
There was a multiplier ticket sold at the Highs store located at 2861 Jessup Road in Jessup that resulted in a $20,000 win. The Columbia 7-Eleven at 10730 Little Patuxent Parkway in Howard County sold a $10,000 prize and another $10,000 winning ticket was sold in Rockville at E&C Mid-Atlantic at 700 Gaither Road in Montgomery County.
The winning numbers were 10-17-33-51-64. The Mega Ball number was 5 and the optional Megaplier was X2. Lottery officials encourage winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location until they can claim their prize. Winners have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes.
The state had 14 third-tier winners of at least $10,000 during the jackpot run. Since the last jackpot of $20 million was hit in New York on April 18, there have been 393,527 winning tickets sold in Maryland.
The last Maryland jackpot win came in March 2014, when Maryland and Florida players split a $414 million jackpot. That winning ticket was sold at Lady’s Liquors in La Plata.
Mega Millions tickets are sold in 47 states and jurisdictions. Odds of winning a $1 million prize are 1 in 12 million with overall odds of winning 1 in 24. Winning numbers are available at mdlottery.com and on the free MD Lottery mobile app.
The Mega Millions jackpot isn’t the only one garnering attention across the country. Wednesday night’s Powerball jackpot is $750 million.
