ROSEDALE, MD—More and more black bears have been spotted in Baltimore County in recent days.
Just last week, a bear or bears was/were spotted in Glen Arm, Phoenix, Towson, and Carney.
On Friday morning, a black bear was spotted in the Nottingham area.
The White Marsh Cowenton Community Association and South Perry Hall Boulevard Improvement Association report that the bear was spotted on June 16, 2023 in the unit block of Cool Meadow Court (21236).
Officials say the best way to avoid bear problems is to take precautions to not attract them in the first place. Never feed bears. They will associate people with food and may become a persistent problem for you and your neighbors. It is illegal to feed bears in Maryland.
If you encounter a bear, remain calm. Don’t panic. Leave the area.
