TOWSON, MD—The hazy smog enveloping Maryland on Thursday is affecting plans for some local schools.
Due to poor air quality conditions, all outdoor activities at Baltimore County Public Schools for June 8, 2023, including field trips to outdoor locations, have been canceled.
Decisions regarding after-school outdoor activities will be made after 10 a.m.
A Code Red Air Quality Alert is in effect for Thursday in the Baltimore area as wildfire smoke from Canada continues to pour into the mid-Atlantic region.
Conditions are expected to improve this weekend.
