Juveniles arrested, charged with attempted murder in connection with Essex double shooting

ESSEX, MD—Police say two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a double shooting that occurred in Essex on Friday night.

At just before 8:15 p.m. on June 2, 2023, officers responded to a reported shooting in the 900-block of S. Marlyn Avenue (21221).  At the scene authorities found two juveniles suffering from gunshot wounds.



On Saturday, June 3, members of the Baltimore County Police Department arrested two juveniles in connection with this incident. The juveniles arrested were both injured during the incident and have been charged as adults for attempted murder and use of a firearm in a felony crime of violence.

Based on the investigation, this was an isolated incident. Police say the shooting was the results of a verbal disagreement that escalated in front of Sandalwood Elementary School.

The juveniles are currently being held without bond.
