Baltimore woman killed in fatal overnight wrong-way crash in Anne Arundel County

HANOVER, MD—Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred early Thursday  morning in Anne Arundel County.

The deceased, identified as Marien Haider, 62, of Baltimore, was the driver of a Hyundai Tucson involved in the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the Hyundai were transported by ambulance to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment of their injuries.



The driver and sole occupant of a Lincoln MKC involved in the crash was transported by ambulance to Shock Trauma for treatment of her injuries.

At about 2:45 a.m. on June 1, 2023, troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area of Route 295 at Arundel Mills Boulevard. According to a preliminary investigation, the Lincoln was traveling north in the southbound lanes of Route 295 at Arundel Mills Boulevard, when the vehicle crashed head-on into the Hyundai. Investigators believe impaired driving may have been a factor in this crash.

Route 295 was closed for approximately three hours following the crash. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
