Second round of bulk trash collections for Baltimore County residents to begin in July

TOWSON, MD—This year’s second bulk item collection schedule for Baltimore County residents will begin in July and run through December. Postcards with upcoming bulk hauling collection dates have been mailed to residents and can be found in the annual Program Guide and Collection Schedule, by calling the Bureau of Solid Waste Management at 410-887-2000 or searching by address on the County’s website.

Baltimore County implemented its new bulk item collection program in 2022, scheduling each single-family residence and townhouse for two free pre-scheduled bulk item collections during the calendar year. The County recommends residents set out bulk items the night before their scheduled bulk collection day, and leave these items out until collection occurs—two different trucks provide bulk item collection (one for scrap metal and one for all other items) and may not arrive at the same time. A limit of three items are accepted on each bulk collection day.

More information about the program, including restricted items and set-out instructions, is available on the Bureau of Solid Waste Management’s website.

Residents may also continue to take bulk items to Baltimore County’s drop-off facilities, year-round, at no charge (limit six loads per calendar year; a disposal preauthorization may be required in some cases).
