SHA to begin concrete repairs on westbound Route 40 in Joppa this Friday

JOPPA, MD—The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration’s work to remove and replace concrete pavement on westbound US 40 (Pulaski Highway) on the approach to Joppa Farm Road in the Joppatowne area of Harford County is now scheduled to begin this Friday night, April 21, weather permitting.

This work is part of the State Highway Administration’s project to rehabilitate and widen the US 40 bridges over Little Gunpowder Falls and Gunpowder Falls.

The concrete road work will follow the same sequence as previously announced; the work requires a double lane closure on westbound US 40 on the approach to Joppa Farm Road now beginning Friday night, April 21 and continuing all day and night Saturday and Sunday.

Beginning Monday morning, April 24, there will be a single lane closure on westbound US 40 all day and all night, Monday morning through Friday afternoon, April 28.

In case of inclement weather this weekend, the concrete road work will be re-scheduled to begin the next possible Friday night (April 28 or a later date).
