BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service in Baltimore has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds and low humidity, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM EDT on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
Westerly winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected with gusts of up to 35 to 45 mph.
Relative humidity will be as low as 18 percent.
Critical fire weather conditions are expected through Tuesday evening. All outdoor burning is discouraged, as fires could rapidly spread and become uncontrollable.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
