BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for the Baltimore area.
The watch will be in effect from Tuesday afternoon, April 18, 2023 through Tuesday evening.
Westerly winds of 10 to 20 mph are expected with gusts of up to 30 mph in the lower elevations. Relative humidity will only be around 15 to 25 percent.
The combination of dry conditions, low humidity, and strong gusty winds may result in favorable conditions for the rapid spread of fires on Tuesday afternoon.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions may occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
