BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for Wednesday in the Baltimore area.
Forecasters says westerly winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts of up to 30 mph are possible on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Humidity levels will be as low as 30 percent.
The combination of dry conditions, low humidity, and strong gusty winds may result in favorable conditions for the rapid spread of fires. Fuel moisture will also possibly drop to around 8 percent.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions may occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
