PERRY HALL, MD—A long-awaited addition to Joppa View Elementary School has been met with “glowing” reviews.
“We are excited to unveil our new LED school sign. The project has been in process for six years and would not have been possible without the assistance of the Joppa View PTA, Councilman David Marks, Perry Hall Station, former Joppa View Principal Kevin Jennings, the current Joppa View administration, and community members. We hope the sign will provide the community with current events taking place at Joppa View,” announced PTA President Mandi Holtzner.
“The Board of Education encourages community participation in school activities and believes the use of school marquee signs enhance school identity, school spirit and school communication with the community. Such partnerships enhance student achievement,” stated Fifth District Board Member Julie Henn.
“A school’s sign creates a first impression; we want visitors to feel welcome and connected. Modern digital signs capture attention and are easy to maintain with the latest updates – keeping community members informed,” Henn continued. “This is an incredible enhancement to Joppa View. I would like to thank PTA President Mandi Holtzner and Councilman David Marks for their fundraising efforts and all who contributed to make this project possible.”
“Smaller projects can greatly enhance the overall appearance of a school and encourage other improvements in the surrounding community. It’s an investment that benefits everyone. I’m pleased to have been able to help and appreciate the PTA’s efforts,” said Councilman David Marks.
