BOOM ALERT: Aberdeen Proving Ground to conduct 24-hour testing this week

ABERDEEN, MD—Aberdeen Proving Ground officials say the base has 24-hour testing operations scheduled for Tuesday, April 4 and ending at 5 p.m. om Thursday, April 6, 2023. Noise may be heard in some areas off the installation.

Military weapons will be visible during daytime and nighttime hours. Residents may hear weapons firing and see flashes or light visible off post from illumination devices. These operations are not hazardous to residents in our surrounding communities and are integral to ensuring continued readiness of service members.

Organizations on APG take every measure to mitigate instances when training or testing becomes problematic to residents off the installation. To ensure minimal impact, APG monitors the weather and the noise readings continuously throughout each day. APG leadership attempts to provide as much transparency as possible to the surrounding communities without compromising the security of the missions conducted here.

If, at any time, anyone in the surrounding communities is concerned about testing at Aberdeen Proving Ground, they are encouraged to contact the installation at 410-278-4091.
