BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Saturday in the Baltimore area.
The warning covers much of central Maryland and will be in effect from 12 p.m. (noon) on Saturday afternoon through midnight Saturday night.
Forecasters say west winds of 25 to 40 mph are expected with gusts of up to 60 mph possible.
Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Residents should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
