PARKVILLE, MD—Parkville High School’s boys basketball team captured the 2023 4A State Championship on Saturday night.
The No. 5 Knights rolled past No. 11 Meade, 72 – 56, to capture the program’s first Class 4A state title.
The team got a measure of revenge after losing by two points in the semifinal round last year. The Mustangs also lost in last year’s semifinals.
Parkville took down Meade with a dominating second half at University of Maryland’s Xfinity Center.
“Anything less, was kind of a bust for us,” coach Josh Czerski told The Baltimore Sun. “The kids knew that — we were going to spin things into something positive. This is what we wanted. This is what we started the season for. This is what we spoke about — going 2-0 once we got to the final four.”
