WOODLAWN, MD—The ribbon has been cut and Global Food has officially opened its first Baltimore-area grocery story.
Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski; John Kim, owner of Global Food; and David Ross, owner of Atlantic Realty joined other local officials at the chain’s grand opening for its new Woodlawn location on Thursday morning.
The new grocery store is located in Meadows Shopping Center, which has been owned by Atlantic Realty since 2006, at Security Boulevard and Woodlawn Drive.
The family-owned regional chain operates two stores in Maryland’s Washington suburbs, in Silver Spring and Oxen Hill, according to The Baltimore Sun. In Northern Virginia, it runs stores in Alexandria, Manassas and Woodbridge.
“Every resident deserves access to fresh, healthy grocery options, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome Global Food to Woodlawn this morning,” said County Executive Johnny Olszewski on Thursday. “Be sure to stop by this community-based shop — now open for business — and offering international options for our residents!”
