BALTIMORE, MD—Powerball closed out February with a deluge of winning tickets in Maryland, including two $50,000 third-tier winners in the Powerball drawing on Monday night and one $50,000 third-tier winner in the Double Play drawing.
Although no one hit the jackpot, there were 8,482 Maryland winners in the Powerball drawing of prizes ranging from $4 to $50,000 and 1,441 Maryland winners in the Double Play drawing of prizes ranging from $7 to $50,000.
The winning numbers to match in the Powerball drawing were 16, 28, 49, 51 and 55; the Power Ball was 23. Winning numbers for the Double Play drawing were 8, 27, 33, 34 and 44; the Power Ball was 5.
Winning $50,000 tickets were sold at:
- Powerball drawing: 7-Eleven, 798 Harry S. Truman Drive, Upper Marlboro (Prince George’s County).
- Powerball drawing: Wegmans, 20600 Seneca Meadows Parkway, Germantown (Montgomery County).
- Double Play drawing: Margate BP, 1601 York Road, Lutherville (Baltimore County).
Powerball and Double Play drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night. The Powerball drawing happens at 11 p.m., and is followed by a separate Double Play drawing 30 minutes later. Powerball tickets are $2, and players can add the Double Play option for an additional $1, making the ticket good for both drawings.
The Powerball jackpot has rolled to an estimated annuity value of $143 million for the March 1 drawing, with an estimated cash option of $73 million. This year, the Maryland Lottery has sold 17 third-tier winning Powerball tickets worth $50,000 to $150,000 and four third-tier Double Play tickets.
Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
