TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Police Department reports that a detective who was shot by a wanted suspect earlier this month has been released from the hospital.
After a 10-day stay at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore County Police Detective Chih has been discharged.
“Detective Chih and his family are extremely grateful for the amazing care that was provided by the staff and surgeons at Shock Trauma,” said police spokesperson Joy Stewart. “As Detective Chih continues to recover, he and his family would also like to thank his colleagues and the community for their outpouring of support. As the family continues along this journey, they would ask their privacy continue to be respected and they remain in your thoughts and prayers.”
Detective Chih was shot during a police standoff with David Linthicum in Cockeysville. The incident led to a police pursuit and a second standoff in Fallston before Linthicum was finally taken into police custody.
