Officer seriously injured after being shot by wanted suspect, roads in Fallston being shut down due to pursuit

UPDATE: Warren Road between Poplar Mill Road & Bosley Road in Cockeysville will also be shut down for an extended period of time.

FALLSTON, MD—A police officer sustained serious injuries after being shot by a wanted suspect in Cockeysville on Thursday night.



At around 9:30 p.m. on February 9, David Linthicum fired shots and reportedly struck a police officer in the vicinity of Powers Avenue.  Linthicum was wanted after shooting and injuring another officer on Wednesday, February 8.

Linthicum then led police on a high-speed chase and has fled into Harford County.

The suspect was last seen in the vicinity of Belair Road at Mountain Road in Fallston.  Nearby residents are being advised to shelter-in-place.

Portions of Harford Road and Belair Road are being shut down in Fallston.

Air units are assisting and there is a very heavy police presence in the area.  The suspect is believed to have two rifles and should be considered armed-and-dangerous.
