BALTIMORE, MD—A Baltimore County player has become the fifth person to win the Maryland Lottery’s $1,000 a day for life, courtesy of the Cash4Life game.
The player bought the top-prize winning ticket in the February 8 drawing at Chadwick Liquors located at 7005 Security Boulevard in Windsor Mill. The winner has the choice of $1,000 a day for life paid in annual installments of $365,000 (before taxes) or a one-time payment of $7 million (before taxes).
The top-prize winner wasn’t the only happy Cash4Life player in the drawing, which saw a total of 4,133 Maryland winners of prizes of $2 and up.
Winners have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
On September 1, 2022, a Cecil County pair claimed a top-prize winning Cash4Life ticket sold August 29, 2022 by Eagles Nest gas station in Chesapeake City. In February 2020, “Bahama Mama” of Salisbury won the game’s top prize. William Brown of Pikesville won the top prize in the August 7, 2017 drawing. And Maryland’s first top-tier winner in Cash4Life was a Frederick County Public Schools employee in the May 2, 2016 drawing.
The Maryland Lottery joined the Cash4Life game in January 2016, and there are now 10 states participating: Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Tennessee. Since the game began in June 2014, Cash4Life has had 64 top-prize winners and 170 second-tier winners.
Maryland has also had seven winners of the second-tier prize, which offers the option of $1,000 a week for life, paid in annual installments of $52,000, or a one-time payment of $1 million (both before taxes). Six other prize levels range from $2 to $2,500.
Drawings take place seven days a week at 9 p.m.
