Police searching for armed suspect following Cockeysville standoff

UPDATE 3: A police pursuit is now in progress in the Fallston area.

COCKEYSVILLE, MD—Police in Baltimore County are searching for an armed suspect following a barricade situation in Cockeysville.



At 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, officers responded to the 10000-block of Powers Avenue in reference to a person in crisis.

Once on scene, a family member escorted officers to the person. As officers interacted with the male subject, he discharged a firearm and a police officer was injured.

The officer was taken to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Police are currently searching for 24-year-old David Emory Linthicum. He is 5’7” tall and weighs 165 pounds, with auburn colored hair, brown eyes, and a beard.

Linthicum is considered armed and dangerous. If located, do not approach – dial 9-1-1 or call police at 410-887-2222.

Homeowners sheltering in place are being asked to remain there.
