Driver rammed police car prior to officer-involved shooting, suspect in critical condition

WHITE MARSH, MD—Police have released an update on Tuesday morning’s officer-involved shooting in White Marsh.



At just after 6 a.m. on January 31, 2023, detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department were attempting to arrest two wanted suspects at the corner of Ebenezer Road and Pulaski Highway when the suspect’s vehicle struck a detective’s car.  The suspect’s vehicle also collided with a civilian vehicle.

At least one detective discharged their firearm during this incident. Officers took the suspects into custody and immediately rendered aid. An adult male suspect was transported to an area hospital in critical condition suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

No members of the Baltimore County Police Department were injured. The Baltimore County Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau is investigating the police-involved shooting while members of the Baltimore County Police Crash Team handle the crash investigation.

The investigation is ongoing at this hour.
