NOTTINGHAM, MD—Someone in the Nottingham area will likely have an easier time shaking off those post-Christmas winter blues.
Adding the $1 Power Play option to a Powerball ticket tripled a third-tier prize to $150,000 for a lucky player in the Monday, January 9 drawing.
Although no one hit the jackpot, there were 14 third-tier winning tickets sold across the country. Maryland had 15,001 winners of prizes ranging from $4 to $150,000; 2,637 state players added the Power Play feature.
Maryland Lottery officials say they are ready to welcome the lucky player who bought the $150,000 winning ticket at Triple A Tobacco located at 7954 Belair Road in Fullerton/Nottingham (21236). The winning numbers were 18, 43, 48, 60 and 69; the Powerball was 14 and the Power Play multiplier was 3.
Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
The Powerball jackpot rolled to an estimated $360 million annuity for the Wednesday, January 11 drawing, with an estimated cash option of $188.7 million.
This is the second third-tier winning Powerball ticket sold in 2023.
