NOTTINGHAM, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for the Baltimore area.
The advisory will be in effect for all of central Maryland from 7 p.m. on Friday through 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Forecaster say residents should prepare for a brutally cold night, with wind chills as low as 10 below zero expected.
The frigid wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
The highest wind speeds will be through Friday evening. Affects from the extreme cold could be made worse due to power outages. Downed trees and non-functional traffic signals may also be a potential hazard, as a Wind Advisory is also in effect.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
