16 Perry Hall High School students accepted into the Maryland Music Educators Association’s 2023 All State Ensembles

TOWSON, MD—Forty BCPS students from 11 middle and high schools have been accepted into the Maryland Music Educators Association‘s 2023 All State Ensembles. Sixteen of those students attend Perry Hall High School.  Two other students were named alternates.

“All State Ensembles represent the pinnacle of music achievement in the state of Maryland,” said Dr. Brian K. Schneckenburger, BCPS supervisor of music and dance education. “The audition process is highly competitive and is the culmination of many years of commitment and preparation. These selected students embody the musical excellence that is fostered every day in our BCPS schools. Congratulations to these students, their families, and their teachers.”

Schools represented by BCPS students in the All State Ensembles are Catonsville, Dulaney, George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology, Hereford, Patapsco, Perry Hall, Pikesville, and Towson high schools and Parkville, Perry Hall, and Ridgely middle schools.

The ensembles will gather for three-day, in-person All State experiences:

  • All State Junior Orchestra (strings only) – February 17-19, 2023
  • All State Junior Chorus – February 17-19, 2023
  • All State Senior Jazz Band – February 23-25, 2023
  • All State Junior Band – March 3-5, 2023
  • All State Senior Band – March 3-5, 2023
  • All State Senior Chorus – March 3-5, 2023
  • All State Senior Orchestra – March 3-5, 2023
