TOWSON, MD—Students and families interested in Baltimore County Public Schools magnet programs are invited to visit the programs during magnet showcase events in October. The magnet website identifies programs and the schools where they are located.

BCPS magnet programs are theme-oriented courses of study that provide students with in-depth experiences in specialized areas of interest. BCPS has nearly 120 elementary, middle, and high school magnet programs in 32 schools across the county. While some magnet programs exist within comprehensive schools, there are also schools whose entire population is determined through the magnet application process.

Applications for magnet programs for the 2023-2024 school year are due by Friday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m. More information, including the Magnet Program brochure and application instructions, is available on the BCPS magnet programs website.

Parents will be notified of the admissions decisions by email on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, for elementary and middle school applicants, and on Friday, Mar. 3, 2023, for high school applicants. Officials say parents must accept or decline the seat offer by the identified deadline or the offer will be revoked.
