Local groups to hold ‘Safe Schools 911’ rally at Perry Hall High School on Monday

PERRY HALL, MD—Local organizations will be holding a “safe schools” rally in Perry Hall on Monday.

Minister Karen Bush, Family Comprehensive Ministry Church, and the Baltimore County Parent and Student Coalition will host a “Safe Schools 911” rally at Perry Hall High School.

The rally will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2022.

The event description reads as follows:

Students are asking their teachers and parents a direct and difficult question: Can you keep me safe at school?

Violence against children takes many forms – be it physical, sexual, or emotional – online and offline. This has a long-lasting impact on children’s lives and the future of their communities and societies. It hinders learning – it can decrease self-esteem, reduce school attendance, and lower academic achievements.

Safety is an essential prerequisite for teaching and learning. We can’t expect to reach any of our educational goals if the safety of students, and the educators who serve them, is not treated as our highest priority.

Perry Hall High School is located at 4601 Ebenezer Road (21236).
