TOWSON, MD—Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski this week announced that Sean Naron will join his senior leadership team as director of communications. He succeeds Dori Henry who has been promoted to interim chief of staff, effective Monday, September 19.
“Sean is a dedicated and skilled communicator who brings unparalleled experience ensuring the public has access to the critical information they need and deserve,” Olszewski said. “I’m thrilled to have him return to our team as we continue implementing our vision for a better Baltimore County.”
Naron, who most recently served as communications director for Maryland gubernatorial candidate and former Maryland and U.S. Labor Secretary Tom Perez, previously served as press secretary for the Olszewski administration and as communications director during Olszewski’s first campaign for county executive. In addition, he has served as a senior communications aide for former Baltimore City Health Commissioner Dr. Leana Wen, former County Executive Kevin Kamenetz’s campaign for governor, and former Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
As director of communications, Naron will oversee the administration’s internal and external communications and provide strategic guidance to the County Executive. Press Secretary Erica Palmisano will continue to serve as the office’s primary point of contact for media.
